Laurus International School: (00:06) Nice to meet you.
ISTimes Global: (00:07) Um I have been passing by many booths, but this is uh this is the first one that had science really highlighted. So I uh wanted to learn more about uh your school.
Laurus International School: (00:18) Yeah, yeah, of course. Um so our school, we started with preschool and kindergarten in the beginning. Now we have seven schools uh uh preschool and kindergarten. And we have our uh primary school, secondary school. And next year, we will open our um sorry, we will open our high school, our um uh upper secondary school in our uh Shiba campus. And uh we yeah, as you can see, we are uh focusing on science, STEM education. And also we put um we also introduce uh entrepreneurship in our curriculum. Yeah.
ISTimes Global: (00:58) So how do you highlight science in uh costumes? So obviously, um science is part of everyone’s core curriculum. Um but it sounds like um you put a lot more weight into it. Um is this things that kids only do within the classroom? Do uh that do projects and uh experimentation outside as well? How does that work?
Laurus International School: (01:22) Yes, we um we have a whole team of science specialist teachers. And also in our facilities, we have um one uh science laboratory in each floor of our facility. So students can actually do um real science projects and science experiments. Um also uh we have long-term projects, short-term projects. And uh yeah, our students they um it’s not just science, it’s also like we uh we emphasize uh STEM education. So, um students are actually um trying to uh use uh the science knowledge that they learn to solve real world problems.
ISTimes Global: (02:14) I see. And um how many years has your uh school been around?
Laurus International School: (02:18) It’s more than 20 years.
ISTimes Global: (02:20) Okay. So you’ve had several groups of uh uh graduates already.
Laurus International School: (02:24) Uh not yet.
ISTimes Global: (02:26) Okay.
Laurus International School: (02:27) Yeah, we our highest um grade is now year eight.
ISTimes Global: (02:33) Eight years.
Laurus International School: (02:33) Yes.
ISTimes Global: (02:34) So it goes up to middle school now.
Laurus International School: (02:36) Yes, they are going to become uh we are going to open our upper secondary school next year.
ISTimes Global: (02:43) Oh, exciting.
Laurus International School: (02:44) Yeah, so yeah.
