ISTimes Global (00:02): Hello, we are here with Adam from Clarence International School. Welcome.
Clarence International School (Adam) (00:06): Thank you very much. It’s good to be here.
Academics
ISTimes Global (00:08): Well, here uh at the expo, uh there are a lot of schools and we’re very excited to learn more about your school. Uh can you tell us something about the academics there?
Clarence International School (Adam) (00:18): Yeah, so we are a British pre-prep based in Omotesando. So we cater for children from 18 months all the way through to six years old. So we follow the earliest framework that you would find back in the United Kingdom, but obviously adapted to meet a global audience here in Tokyo. It’s very play-based, children are at the center of everything that we do. There’s a heavy arts focus, so children can develop spoken language through drama, creative thinking, visual arts, music, every day. Um so, you know, though children leave us by the age of six with a variety and a wealth of experiences.
Home Away From Home
ISTimes Global (01:03): Ah, great. Um tell us a bit about what parents might say about your school uh having their kids in there.
Clarence International School (Adam) (01:11): Yeah, well I think for any early years school, parents are always a bit anxious. It’s the first step into education for these children. So, we just try to be a home away from home. So, our campus is quite unique in the sense that it is a, it feels a bit like a home. So, children get that warmth, that comfort that they would see back with their families. So, we just try to say to them and parents would agree that we are just one big extended family as well. It’s warm, it’s happy, welcoming, and children ultimately just feel safe enough to to grow and flourish with us as well.
