Rugby School Japan (RSJ), opened in September 2023, is Greater Tokyo's newest high-end British boarding and day school. Affiliated with the prestigious 1567-established UK Rugby School, this co-educational institution for ages 11-18 (Years 7-13) is located in the Kashiwanoha Smart City hub, approximately 30 minutes from central Tokyo. RSJ is highly selective and has earned notable recognition, including COBIS "Beacon School Status" for Student Welfare. RSJ delivers a rigorous British curriculum focused on university preparation. This progression leads students from the foundational British KS3 National Curriculum to the internationally recognized IGCSEs (Years 10-11) and culminates in the demanding A-Levels (Years 12-13). Instruction is entirely in English, with mandatory Japanese study and options for French or German.

The school fosters a diverse community of approximately 300 students from 30+ nationalities. The traditional House System underpins pastoral care, and the learning environment is personalized with small class sizes, averaging 15 students. The school also provides EAL (English as an Additional Language) support for students needing assistance in accessing the curriculum.

The purpose-built campus reflects its UK architectural heritage and features world-class resources to support its extensive co-curricular programme (over 100 activities). Key facilities include a large Gymnasium, a 25m indoor swimming pool, a full-size Rugby and Soccer field (turf), a Blackbox theatre, and dedicated science and music rooms. The school emphasizes developing ‘The Whole Person’ through a strong commitment to sports, service, music, drama, and dance.
